Makenna finally arrived on Monday, January 5 at 7:43 pm. Labor progressed fairly quickly. I started to notice contractions at 8:45 Monday morning and we were off to the hospital by noon. By 3 they decided I was a keeper and supposedly started the procedures for the epidural. I don't know the exact time, but I don't think the epidural came until 6:30 (due to lab issues) and let's just say Carmen was not feeling very well! I started pushing around 7 and she was here less than 45 minutes later. Because of the delay of the epidural, they had me on some other pain medication that made me very sleepy and I know I had 2 doses, so I don't recall a lot of the evening!
She is a healthy baby - she scored 8-9 on the Apgar. She was 7 lbs 7 ozs and 19 inches long. We just arrived home from the hospital and Makenna is hungry. We'll post pictures later, but she is a pretty baby! And I have been dumped by Bailey for the baby. She is all excited to see and lick on the new face!

Yeah! Congratulations Carmen! In moments like these, I wish I were closer. Do post pictures soon, PLEASE. With you and Robert as parents, of course she's pretty! I'm so glad to see your post and know Makenna is here and you two are doing well. Congrats again! Many hugs, Kris
