...the first weekend away. It was hard - no, I did not cry - but we did it. Makenna, Robert and Bailey were at my parents, so she had plenty of people loving on her - especially with Aunt Alli there too. I'm sure the non lack of attention (not that Robert ignores her) helped a lot. I was SOOOOO glad to get home. I love the hugs and a couple of kisses (or open mouth!) that I received.
Saturday before I left Robert ran to a consignment sale that they hold at the Horse Park (for the 96 Olympics) looking for our second big girl car seat. (As an aside - for those in the area that are interested - the sale runs until this Saturday - here is the link with the details http://tykestotsteens.com/home.php.) He didn't find what we were looking for, but did find this 2-in-1 thing that is missing one part, so essentially we have a walk behind walker and Makenna LOVES it. You should see her when she runs into the couch and continues to try to push it. She gets kind of mad! Usually we will sit on the floor in the middle and guide her in circles. It has a steering wheel that beeps that she loves to hit. And she has taken a couple of steps without holding on to anything. I wouldn't say she is quite ready for walking, but she's getting there.
In other updates, I believe I have mentioned that I never got the hang of the baby bath tub and I had been getting in with her. The past couple of weeks - she has flown solo in the tub and I think she has gotten used to it. The first couple of nights were hard, but she loves to play with the bath toys - she has her favorites - and I think last night she squirted one on her own.
I know, I need pictures. I'll try to get them on here soon.
