Wow - I haven't updated in a while. Opps. Makenna keeps us busy - she is down to one nap a day now, so during that time we try to get other things taken care of and there isn't much time to update blogs. At least from my end! And by the time we get her in bed, etc. it is time for me to head that direction as well. Running after one with some extra pounds out front isn't the easiest thing in the world to do! I suppose the time is getting near to meet this little one. We did a 3D ultrasound a couple of weekends ago. Eli wasn't cooperative until the last minute or two. He was nice and comfy digging his face into the placenta and not interested in moving into the fluid. So, not a lot of facial pictures, but a couple. There is also some kind of appendige that really likes my rib cage. Makenna did not like to hang out there, so this is a new discomfort for me! About a month ago he was measuring a week ahead and from what I've read that doesn't mean much, but we'll see. I had to go to Greenville last week for work and Robert and Makenna joined me Monday night. We had fun in the pool on Tuesday night, and hung out with friends on Wed. and Thurs. night. It is always good to see friends.
Also in the past couple of weeks my parents put down the family dog. Jamie and I both went over and stayed Friday night to say goodbye. That was not the easiest thing in the world to do, but glad I was there. Punkin was 15 - we got her for mom's 40th birthday when I was a junior in high school. We always joked that she forgot how to walk when I came home from college because she would want me to hold her the entire time. Then she had to get used to having Bailey around. That was an interesting introduction! I had come home with Bailey by myself and mom wasn't home yet. I ended up sitting on the kitchen floor with Bailey in her crate and Punkin shaking in my lap until mom arrived. But, she got used to her. Poor thing couldn't hear or see towards the end and didn't much want to be held anymore. We will miss having her around.
Robert painted Elijah's room this weekend. So, that is done. We have the crib up and ready to go, although he won't be in it for the first few weeks. There are still some things to move out of his room and other final touches to make, but we're getting there.
We also found out that we will be an aunt/uncle come December as my brother and sister-in-law are expecting. Three little ones under the age of two - for about a month until Makenna turns 2! Fun and exciting times!
I need to get a couple of things done before Makenna gets up. Just wanted to let eveyrone know we were still here!
